Joe Diaz is an associate attorney at Ferrari & Associates, P.C. Mr. Diaz has experience representing high-profile Specially Designated Nationals (“SDNs”) in their sanctions delistings, responding to and settling Bureau of Industry and Security (“BIS”) enforcement actions, and providing sanctions compliance guidance to multi-national corporations. Mr. Diaz also has experience litigating constitutional and regulatory issues on behalf of SDN clients, as well as representing individuals in their sanctions-related federal prosecution.
Mr. Diaz graduated from the American University Washington College of Law Summa Cum Laude and fifth in his class. During his time as a law student, Mr. Diaz was a member of the prestigious American University Law Review, worked as a teaching assistant in the Legal Rhetoric department, and volunteered on behalf of Afghan interpreters seeking Special Immigrant Visas. In addition to spending several years interning with Ferrari & Associates, Mr. Diaz interned in the National Security Law Section of the Department of Homeland Security as well as with the Transportation Security Administration’s Security Operations team, where he gained behind-the-scenes knowledge of the United States Government’s national security apparatus.
